Arrowsmith Tennis Club set to open season May 3

The Arrowsmith Tennis Club is ready to kick off their season.
On May 3, it will hold an open house at the Springwood tennis courts. There will be fun games and activities for all ages and abilities. As well, there will be an opportunity to look at the latest tennis gear. Courtside Tennis will have a display and racquets for demo on that day.
Mixed doubles drop-in will also start soon. To join the group, email Mike Kuntz at livingwell@vianet.ca.
The ATC has also opened registration for Cardio Tennis, a new program this year.There will also be a Drills and Skills program that will be available every Saturday mornings at Springwood Park and Sunday afternoons at the Qualicum Beach tennis courts on Veterans’ Way. It will start in May. Non-members are welcome for a fee.

Arrowsmith Tennis Club host indoor TRY tennis for school-age children

The program is being offered in partnership with the Regional District of Nanaimo Recreation and it will be held at Oceanside Elementary Schools every Monday starting Jan. 12 to Feb. 5. The second program will be held Feb. 9 to March 9. The program runs from 5:45 to 7 p.m.
ATC president and instructor, Elizabeth Huculak, said this is being offered to school-aged youngsters and no experience is needed.
Participants will be introduced to skill-building activities and drills. Following that, players will take part in round-robin games to practice what they’ve learned. Children will be grouped by age and skill level. Racquets and tennis balls will be provided.
